VISIT FLORIDA recently unveiled our newly revamped website VISITFLORIDA.org. Unlike VISITFLORIDA.com, VISITFLORIDA.org is an industry-facing website that provides tools and resources for the Florida tourism industry. During the 2013-14 fiscal year, VISIT FLORIDA traveled to six key domestic markets for Very Important Planner (VIP) events which included Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York City and Washington D.C. Each of these markets have a strong base of corporate and national association planners that source Florida for meetings and conventions, and have been highly successful in marketing Florida’s diverse and immense meetings opportunities. As the sunshine state’s official tourism marketing corporation, VISIT FLORIDA is committed to establishing Florida as the No. 1 travel destination in the world. In order to reach this goal, we conduct extensive research on the visitors to our state, and publish them yearly in our Florida Visitor Study. The study pulls together the most recent visitor trend data which we use to develop our marketing messages for the year. I would like to congratulate Delray Beach for being named the “Most Fun Small Town in America” in Rand McNally/USA Today’s 2012 Best of the Road contest. Kudos to Deland as well, who was the first runner-up in the “Most Patriotic” category. Other categories included “Most Beautiful,” “Best for Food” and “Friendliest” small town. Continue reading »
