I am pleased to announce that the 2016 VISIT FLORIDA Magazine and Official Florida Transportation Map are now available at the Official Florida Welcome Centers.  The magazine serves as VISIT FLORIDA’s premier travel planning publication providing information on destinations throughout the state, attractions, accommodations, shopping and dining, and informative articles and images to inspire our visitors. Recently, thirteen VISIT FLORIDA Visitor Services staff members from the five Official Florida Welcome Centers and the Tallahassee corporate office were invited to participate in a familiarization (FAM) tour of the Pensacola area.  These semi-annual tours allow Welcome Center staff to visit regions of the state so that they can relate first-hand knowledge to newly arrived Florida visitors.  As part of the five-day event, staff experienced many of the wonderful attractions, accommodations and restaurants in the Pensacola area courtesy of our Partners at Visit Pensacola. VISIT FLORIDA manages the state’s five Official Florida Welcome Centers located at I-10, I-95, I-75, U.S. 231 and the Florida Capitol.  In addition to promoting Florida tourism businesses, the Welcome Center staff offer detailed travel planning advice and information to more than 2.5 million drive visitors each year.  To ensure that advice reflects the latest tourism offerings, our employees are trained, tested and certified to serve.
