Last week, VISIT FLORIDA and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau co-branded a booth for 16 of our Industry Partners to participate in IMEX Frankfurt 2014 as part of our continuing effort to promote the Sunshine State to meeting and incentive travel around the globe. To accommodate this large group of Partners, VISIT FLORIDA designed a new stand layout for the trade show floor that provided spotlighted coverage for each of the destinations, properties and service companies in attendance. This week, VISIT FLORIDA coordinated a media luncheon and Partner presentation at Le Prunier restaurant in Paris. Fifteen journalists from major French travel trade and tourism publications attended the event, including Désirs de Voyages, Easyvoyage.com, Golf Européen, Guides Gallimard, Hôtel & Lodge, I-voyages.net /I-trekkings.net, Luxe-magazine.com, Marie-Claire, Marie-Claire Maison and Quotidien du Tourisme. From A to (almost) Z, VISIT FLORIDA PR staff and four of our industry Partners met with top journalists in the Washington, D.C. area earlier this month. The mission was four days of non-stop one-on-one meetings with national and international press. A team at AOL Travel, which recently linked up with MapQuest, welcomed Visit Jacksonville & the Beaches, Visit Orlando, The Florida Keys & Key West and Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to its offices near Dulles International Airport to discuss possible story needs from the Sunshine State. Leading up to the IIFA Awards – Bollywood’s Oscars – in Tampa next month, VISIT FLORIDA teamed up with Visit Orlando, Visit Tampa Bay and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to bring four leading Indian media to experience Florida for themselves. VISIT FLORIDA recently teamed up with Brand USA, Hainan Airlines, Visit Orlando and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to bring 21 China travel trade, media and airline representatives to Florida. China continues to be an important emerging international market for VISIT FLORIDA, showing 32% and 43% increases in visitation and visitor spending respectively in 2013. Continue reading »
