TTAB Shares Priority Issues with Commerce Secretary Pritzker |
The U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board recently released the four recommendations they made to Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker as priority issues for our industry to be examined over the next three years. Their recommendations fell into four key buckets: improving the visa and entry process, substantial investment in transportation infrastructure, reauthorization of Brand USA and expansion of public/private partnerships modeled after the relationship between the TTAB and Commerce Department.
Just as VISIT FLORIDA and the Florida tourism industry have been challenged by Governor Scott to reach 100 million visitors, the President’s National Travel and Tourism Strategy identified a goal of welcoming 100 million international visitors to the U.S. by the end of 2021. The recommendations put forward by the TTAB, which includes two members of the VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors – Maryann Ferenc and Bill Talbert, are vital to the continued success of the national travel and tourism industry and will go a long way toward ensuring Florida reaches our goal of becoming the No. 1 travel destination in the world.
