U.S. Travel Hosts Conference to Address Key Travel Infrastructure Issues |
While the rest of the world is speeding up, aging U.S. transportation infrastructure is slowing America down. Everyone agrees on the problem, but solutions are scarce. This week, I’ve joined transportation visionaries and other travel industry leaders at the Connecting America Through Travel conference for an important dialogue about how to revitalize America’s travel infrastructure.
Once ranked first in international transportation infrastructure, today the U.S. has fallen to 24th. This first-annual event, hosted by the U.S. Travel Association, was convened to forge new ideas and build partnerships that promote innovative policy solutions across all modes of transportation, highlight the benefits of multi-modal connectivity that puts the traveler at the center of the discussion, and showcase the power of public-private partnerships along with greater assistance from Washington that will help get things done.
By bringing together travel, transportation and policy experts with the ability to influence change, this conference provided an excellent opportunity to help ensure Florida has the infrastructure to be the No. 1 travel destination in the world.
