Sunshine Matters

This week, VISIT FLORIDA staff participated in the Southeast Tourism Society 2013 Fall Forum held at the Omni Hotel in Jacksonville.  In addition to serving as the host state this year, VISIT FLORIDA partnered with Visit Jacksonville to host a reception and silent auction on the trade show floor.  Over 180 people attended the conference and interacted with peers across the twelve southern states that comprise the STS.

Several Florida tourism industry leaders were asked to serve as speakers over the three-day event, including Randy Garfield with Disney Destinations and the Walt Disney Travel Company, Rob Varley with Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism and Anna Mikell with Visit Gainesville.   And congratulations to Nicki Grossman and her team at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau who won the 2013 Shining Example Award for Tourism Office of the Year in Category 2 (budgets over $2 million).
