KEY TOPICS

Overall, media coverage monitoring this weekend and early today mainly centers on reports that oil has reached the Florida panhandle.  Most media coverage also stated that the oil spill will negatively affect Florida tourism, fisheries, economy and environment.  Some articles continue to report on the anger and frustration of Florida residents and industries impacted by the situation. Some articles discuss BP’s/President Obama’s response to the crisis.  The vast majority of media coverage however, focuses primarily on the tar washing up on Florida beaches.
