Florida Hosts Highly Successful International Pow Wow 2010 |
The 42nd annual International Pow Wow in Orlando, held May 15-19, has come and gone. However, the positive impressions and memories of Florida created during Pow Wow are lasting. Orlando has hosted five previous Pow Wow marketplaces and we were delighted to have Pow Wow hosted by a Florida destination for the second consecutive year. In between Pow Wow’s three days of business sessions, the Orange County CVB and its tourism community entertained and delighted Pow Wow participants at three major Orlando attractions – Disney, Universal and Sea World.
Though it seems that every corner of the world is facing unique challenges, I witnessed a lot of optimism from our international buyers during Pow Wow this year. It remains clear that our international markets continue to play an important role in Florida’s tourism, with nearly 10 million overseas and Canadian visitors in 2009.
