VISIT FLORIDA Successfully Completes Annual Media Missions Program |
The VISIT FLORIDA Public Relations team and participating industry partners recently completed an annual series of media missions in Florida’s key feeder markets, which included Atlanta, Birmingham, Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
During the missions program, appointments were made with a total of 38 key media representatives, consisting of both traditional media outlets and bloggers who are influential among readers and followers in social media. Highlights included meetings with Southern Living Magazine, Cooking with Paula Dean, Orbitz, The Chicago Tribune, Ebony Magazine, USA Today, National Geographic Traveler, The Boston Globe, Wicked Good Travel Tips, Family Travel Network, WCIU TV in Chicago, AAA World and The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
VISIT FLORIDA’s media missions program connects representatives from Florida DMOs and tourism businesses with top-tier journalists, editors and travel writers from digital publications, newspapers, magazines, and radio and television stations. The one-on-one deskside meetings allow VISIT FLORIDA and its partners to present the latest information and travel story pitches from around the Sunshine State while sustaining and growing relationships with the media.
An early earned media result from the missions program showcases Florida RV Travel Tips in AARP.org by Peter Greenberg (AARP receives 6.4 million unique visitors per month).
VISIT FLORIDA would like to thank the following industry partners that participated in the success of the missions program: Visit Central Florida, Visit Tallahassee, Tampa Bay and Company, The Paradise Coast-Naples, Marco Island & the Everglades, Visit Pensacola, Seminole County CVB, Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands, Visit Orlando, The Beaches of Ft. Myers and Sanibel, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB.
