Sunshine Matters

For months now I have been touting the benefits of joining the Power of Travel Coalition.

The Power of Travel Coalition is the grassroots army of the American travel community.  The Coalition seeks to amplify the voices of millions of travel employees with a vested interest in rewarding leaders who champion our industry and advocating for policies that promote travel to and within the United States.

I am pleased to announce that Florida’s participation in the Power of Travel Coalition has reached 50,000.  That is a great milestone, but with nearly one million Floridians directly employed by tourism, we can definitely increase our numbers.

A strong travel economy means healthier local economies and more jobs.  Please visit the Power of Travel Coalition website and sign up to receive information about the campaign and how you can stay involved.  You can even sign up your peers and employees.  If we work hard to get the word out, we can more than double our participation in no time.

We know that travel matters – to you, your business, your community and the Florida economy.  Whether educating policymakers about the value of travel, promoting Florida overseas as a tourist destination, or making sure our government is prepared to respond to a natural disaster that impacts tourism, the Coalition will be defending and strengthening the travel community.
