Sunshine Matters

Florida’s diverse attractions of all sizes are so vital to the overall success of tourism in our state.  According to a 2013 Oxford Economics study, Florida ranked first in the nation with our attractions generating nearly $48 billion and supporting nearly 490,000 jobs.  The same study showed that the tax impacts of attractions in Florida approached $5 billion in federal taxes and $4 billion in state and local taxes.

As I travel the state in the coming weeks and months, I’ll be meeting with small, medium and large attractions to discuss the impact they have on the tourism industry and the role VISIT FLORIDA plays in helping promote them to visitors around the world.  A new way we’ll be spreading the word about the Sunshine State’s incredible offerings is by highlighting one Florida attraction each week as part of our popular #TravelTuesday campaign.  If you have a great attraction we should add to the list, send an email to Partner@VISITFLORIDA.org.
