VISIT FLORIDA’s international team recently attended the Receptive Services Association of America (RSAA) Summit in Las Vegas, NV. The two-day event had the highest Summit ratings in history, attracting 190 attendees which included a delegation from Taiwan for the first time. VISIT FLORIDA staff were able to conduct a host of one-on-one appointments and participate in educational breakout sessions throughout the conference. Continue reading »

Visitation to VISIT FLORIDA’s five Official Florida Welcome Centers – located at I-10, I-75, I-95 , U.S. 231 and in the State Capitol – saw more than 2.5 million visitors in 2014, which is a 2.2% increase over 2013. When visitors stop at the Welcome Centers, they get both information and a Florida experience. To make sure the Welcome Centers are always fresh, entertaining and capture the spirit of the Sunshine State, VISIT FLORIDA implements a variety of creative elements, such as Takeovers, Seasonal Festivals, Themed Months and Special Topic Brochures. I am pleased to announce that during last evening’s awards gala in New York City, Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) recognized Susannah Costello, VISIT FLORIDA’s Vice President of Global Brand, as one of its “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing.” This distinction marks Susannah as one of the “best of the best” in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries for 2014. Two other Florida tourism industry leaders were named to this year’s list – Vince LaRuffa with Universal Orlando Resort and Jack Wert with the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention & Visitors Bureau.
