Now in its second year, this show has quickly become the Latin American version of World Travel Market London. The three-day trade show is a business-to-business event promoting tourism products in Latin America and offers the perfect platform for the travel industry to meet in a professional setting. This week, VISIT FLORIDA participated in the Florida Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds Annual Conference. The conference, held this year in Destin, was attended by more than 100 owners and operators of campgrounds and RV parks located in both Florida and Alabama. Attendees took part in educational sessions to learn new ways to grow their business, improve park operations and cut expenses. VISIT FLORIDA’s Vice President of Visitor Services, David Dodd, presented on creating an outstanding customer experience, not simply providing good customer service. Continue reading »

This week has been a busy one for VISIT FLORIDA staff who gave back to the community through involvement in two worthwhile activities. First, fifteen volunteers from the VISIT FLORIDA staff gathered up books and headed to two Tallahassee elementary schools to participate in READ UNITED, part of the United Way of the Big Bend’s “Days of Doing” program. There, each volunteer read aloud to a first grade class and left behind a book for each student to take home. Continue reading »
