VISIT FLORIDA’s newly released preliminary international visitor numbers show that Florida welcomed a record 15.2 million international visitors from 186 countries who spent nearly $16.1 billion in the Sunshine State in 2013. These figures represent a 9% increase in visitation and an 8% increase in visitor spending over the previous year. Continue reading »

VISIT FLORIDA’s annual consumer media reception in New York City was held last week at the exclusive Lincoln Ristorante, complete with views of the reflecting pool and grass lawn roof in the heart of Lincoln Center. The format included a networking mixer followed by a sit-down luncheon designed to provide our Industry Partners an opportunity to network with travel journalists and present updates about Florida travel stories while raising awareness of Florida’s diverse offerings. VISIT FLORIDA recently teamed up with Brand USA, Hainan Airlines, Visit Orlando and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to bring 21 China travel trade, media and airline representatives to Florida. China continues to be an important emerging international market for VISIT FLORIDA, showing 32% and 43% increases in visitation and visitor spending respectively in 2013. Continue reading »

VISIT FLORIDA manages the state’s five Florida Welcome Centers located at I-10, I-95, I-75, US 231 and the Florida Capitol. As a fun way to engage with visitors, and showcase all there is to see and do in the Sunshine State, the four highway Florida Welcome Centers set up special displays that allow travelers to learn more about what’s happening around the state at certain times of the year.
