Florida Governor Scott to Help ‘Share a Little Sunshine’

After a brutally harsh winter for many Americans, Florida Governor Rick Scott and VISIT FLORIDA have organized the “Share a Little Sunshine Tour” to invite those hit hardest by this year’s unseasonably cold weather to defrost in sunny Florida.  Governor Scott and the rest of the “Sunshine Ambassadors” will start their two-day tour March 1 in Orlando and make stops in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City and Chicago.  When the whirlwind tour ends in the Windy City, 120 lucky winners will board a chartered plane and return to Orlando with the Governor to take a much-needed break from the worst winter many have seen in decades. Florida’s Tourism Industry Welcomed 82.6 Million Visitors in 2010

Reversing a two-year trend in decreased visitor numbers, Florida rebounds in 2010.  According to preliminary estimates* released today by VISIT FLORIDA, an estimated 82.6 million visitors came to Florida in 2010, an increase of 2.1 percent over 2009 figures.  Continue reading »

VISIT FLORIDA and CBS Ask “So You Think You Know Florida?”

Ninety-four percent of Florida’s 80.9 million annual visitors have been here before, so VISIT FLORIDA is always looking for creative ways to reconnect with those  travelers and remind them why they need to return to the Sunshine State.

In partnership with CBS, VISIT FLORIDA is relaunching the highly successful “So You Think You Know Florida” promotion.  The promotion showcases Florida destinations, challenges viewers’ perceptions and knowledge of Florida locales, educates them on all that Florida has to offer, drives engagement online, and reaches potential visitors with multiple touch points throughout their day.   Running from February 7 through March 28, “So You Think You Know Florida” is meant to ignite potential visitor attention in Florida’s six key feeder markets of Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C .  Continue reading »

VISIT FLORIDA Leverages Groundhog Day to Put Florida Top-of-Mind
