First, as a comprehensive stand-alone magazine filled with articles and images highlighting many of the activities and destinations of interest to visitors in the Sunshine State. In order to capitalize on the success of last year’s award-winning marketing campaign, VISIT FLORIDA announces the year-two launch of “Your Florida Side Is Calling” in key markets throughout the U.S. The fully-integrated campaign generated more than $147 in tourism spending and $9 in new sales tax collections for every $1 spent on marketing during its first year in 2010. One big way we are able to leverage that relationship is by returning to Dempsey Racing this season as title sponsor of the No. 40 VISIT FLORIDA/Dempsey Racing Mazda RX-8 GT and lead drivers Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster. I’m proud to share with you that, for the second consecutive year, Florida has been voted the “best selling destination in the U.S. and Canada” by the travel agent readers of Recommend magazine in their 14th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards.
