VISIT FLORIDA Launches New Ad in Oil Spill Marketing Response Campaign

VISIT FLORIDA recently released into market our latest television ad aimed at helping visitors make well-informed summer travel planning decisions in light of the Gulf oil spill situation. The new ad, titled “More Than Enough,” recognizes that travelers have questions about current beach conditions in the Sunshine State and explains that, with more than 825 miles of beaches and 1,260 miles of Florida coastline, the Florida Live feature on VISITFLORIDA.com will allow them to see for themselves exactly what’s happening at destinations all across the state. VISIT FLORIDA Launches Next Wave of Advertising for Summer Travel

Building on the $2.5 million campaign that began on May 15, today VISIT FLORIDA launched Phase 2 of an aggressive advertising campaign to support the summer travel season.  This $7.15 million campaign, funded through the Governors Office from the $25 million received by the State from BP, will generate over 480 million impressions in the next 3 weeks. GOVERNOR CHARLIE CRIST
Regarding BP’s $25-Million Grant for Tourism Advertising

“I am grateful to Tony Hayward, CEO of BP, for answering our call for help and delivering the good news that BP will provide Florida an additional $25 million for a national tourism advertising campaign. These funds are in addition to the $25 million we have already received, and I commend BP for their commitment to protect our beaches, businesses and communities affected by the Gulf oil spill.

“As one of the world’s favorite travel destinations, we will use every marketing resource available to spread the word that Florida’s beaches are clean, our fish are biting, and the Sunshine State is open for business.”
