10 Steps to Better Engagement in VISIT FLORIDA Programs

As the official tourism marketing corporation for the state, VISIT FLORIDA is committed to providing leadership that will ensure Florida’s tourism industry remains competitive and sustainable.  In order to accomplish this, it is important for VISIT FLORIDA to position itself as a thought leader and valuable resource to key Florida tourism stakeholders.

One way VISIT FLORIDA serves this role of educating and engaging Florida’s tourism industry is by hosting our annual Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism.  This year’s event, held at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood September 25-27, offered the opportunity for more than 750 members of the travel industry from across the state to obtain critical research data, share best practices and receive powerful hands-on marketing solutions for their destination marketing challenges.

VISIT FLORIDA Launches “Florida Fan Game”

Today as we celebrate the start of college football season, VISIT FLORIDA launches the “Florida Fan Game,” a contest to help Florida’s tourism-based economy and show which university has Florida’s best fans.  The Florida Fan Game is an initiative of VISIT FLORIDA’s Share A Little Sunshine program, engaging Floridians to support tourism by inviting friends and family to visit the Sunshine State. Destination Marketing Works

VISIT FLORIDA’s 2011 spring advertising campaign generated $177 in incremental traveler spending in Florida for every $1 in advertising spend.

VISIT FLORIDA once again contracted with Strategic Marketing and Research, Inc.  to determine the Return on Investment from the “Your Florida Side” domestic advertising campaign.

The campaign, now in its second year,  used the proven “Your Florida Side” creative and utilized an increased budget quite efficiently.  The result was a significant increase in advertising recall – from 35 percent to 52 percent.  Beyond just the efficient media buy, the creative continued to receive excellent ratings from consumers.  The campaign communicates key messages and motivates consumers to take action.  The ratings of this campaign place it among the top 10 percent of destination campaigns that Strategic Marketing and Research, Inc.  has measured. Survey Shows Visitors Significantly Influenced by VF Marketing Efforts

Each year, VISIT FLORIDA conducts a Return on Investment Influencer Study to measure the collective impact of our marketing efforts on visitors’ decisions to come to the Sunshine State.  Results from the 2010 study, conducted in November and released in June, show a nearly ten percent increase over the previous year in the number of Florida visitors who were significantly influenced in their decision to visit the state by one or more VISIT FLORIDA marketing initiatives.
